Use and Production of Pigments for Construction: Perspectives of Azaphilones
Study of the biosynthesis and production of colored metabolites via microbial culture/fermentation.
CNRS-Chimie, in collaboration with Hyflex and the Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles (ICSN-CNRS), is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for a 14-month fixed-term contract, funded by CNRS. The project, at the crossroads of natural substance chemistry, metabolomics and materials chemistry, aims to explore the potential of azaphilones, natural pigments produced by filamentous fungi, for innovative applications in the ecological construction sector (colored bricks, durable coatings, etc.). The successful candidate will be based at ICSN in Gif-sur-Yvette, in the “Functional Chemistry and Chemical Ecology” team, and will be attached to the ICSN strain library, with possible assignments in French Guiana, in connection with the collection and valorization of microbial strains isolated in the field. This collaboration is part of a structuring partnership with Hyflex, a company active in French Guiana in the field of sustainable construction materials.
We are looking for a specialist:
Knowledge or experience of microbial fermentation, physico-chemical characterization of specialized metabolites, or bioengineering of filamentous fungi will be particularly appreciated.
