Join Renault Group Procurement and participate in the Renaulution.

Within the Material Purchasing department at Renault Group, you will join the team responsible for flat and long steel materials, with an annual purchase volume of approximately 1.5 billion euros. As a steel materials purchasing expert, you will play a strategic role in optimizing sourcing for parts and contributing to economic performance and technical innovation, especially in the context of increasing strategic importance of low-carbon steel technologies.

This is a new position created as part of the development of a new strategic scope:
– purchasing innovative steel materials with a focus on low-carbon development
– serving all Renault Group factories and primary suppliers of metallic parts.

Location: Guyancourt (78)

Based at the Technocentre in Guyancourt within Renault Group Procurement, reporting to the Material Purchasing Department.

Type of contract: CDI – Executive, with the possibility of up to 2 days of telecommuting per week.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the purchasing strategy for flat and long steels.
  • Manage and develop the supplier qualification and panel, ensuring competitive supply for all factories.
  • Develop the low-carbon steel supply chain aligned with Renault's 'carbon neutrality' roadmap.
  • Negotiate annual steel material contracts covering costs, logistics, energy surcharges, etc., and formalize agreements with suppliers and customers.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and logistics teams to optimize performance across quality, cost, delivery, and other criteria.
  • Monitor market trends, new low-carbon steel manufacturing methods, and environmental/regional regulations such as ETS & CBAM legislation.
  • Proactively resolve payment or supply incidents in coordination with relevant teams.
  • Contribute to cost improvements in serial production through technical and sourcing optimizations.
  • Serve as the purchasing reference for engineering teams regarding sourcing strategies for steel materials.

Profile

  • Engineering degree or equivalent Bac+5, specialized in purchasing, materials, or metallurgy.
  • At least 6 years of experience in the automotive steel sector, including purchasing, sales, or product development.
  • Strong negotiation skills, costing tools expertise, and market dynamics understanding.
  • Good knowledge of low-carbon steel production methods and costs.
  • Understanding of European carbon legislation (ETS / CBAM).
  • Knowledge of automotive steel cost structures and full value chain.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across projects, engineering, quality, and finance.
  • Autonomy, rigor, analytical mindset, and initiative.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
