About the Team

You will join the Accounting, Consolidation & Reporting team within Wakam's Finance Department. The team is responsible for:

  • Managing day‑to‑day general accounting
  • Producing accurate financial information for stakeholders
  • Supporting monthly, quarterly and annual closings
  • Contributing to consolidation and reporting for the Group

We work closely with HR, FP&A and others in a dynamic, collaborative environment, supervised by the Head of Accounting, Consolidation & Reporting.

The Mission

As a Junior Accounting Apprentice, your mission is to support the smooth running of day‑to‑day accounting and contribute to reliable financial information. You will gradually gain exposure to the full accounting cycle, from basic entries to closing work, and develop understanding of how a fast‑growing insurtech manages its data.

Your Responsibilities
1. Day‑to‑Day General Accounting

Help with bookkeeping:

  • Entering, checking and matching accounting entries
  • Assisting with fixed assets cycle (acquisitions, disposals, depreciation)
2. Review and Follow‑Up of Receivables and Payables

Participate in the supplier cycle:

  • Checking supplier data and invoices (amounts, allocations, consistency)
  • Analyzing and justifying supplier balances (matching items, resolving anomalies)
3. Expense Reports

Take part in professional expenses process:

  • Checking compliance of expense reports
  • Entering and integrating expense reports into the accounting system
  • Following up on reimbursements and improving the process
4. Support to Closing Activities
  • Preparing and posting cut‑off entries (accruals, prepaid expenses, provisions)
  • Reviewing and justifying accounts (matching, variance analysis, review files)
  • Assisting with internal reporting and consolidation (data collection, consistency checks)
5. Continuous Improvement & Transversal Projects
  • Optimise accounting tools and processes (automation, data quality)
  • Update documentation (procedures, operating guidelines)
Who You Are
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; seeking an apprenticeship.
  • Comfortable with Excel and office tools, eager to develop them.
  • Rigorous, organised, detail‑oriented, reliable.
  • Good interpersonal skills, enjoys teamwork, can communicate clearly.
  • Curious, engaged, eager to learn and understand the full accounting cycle.
