A global industrial manufacturer is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to customize products based on customer specifications. The role involves 3D modeling, finite element calculations, and ensuring product compliance with quality standards, especially in the nuclear sector. Candidates should have a Mechanical Design Engineering Degree, proficiency in CAD, and strong problem-solving skills. Qualifications

  • Solid foundation in various technical disciplines including mechanics and hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of materials and surface treatments.
  • Experience with nuclear regulations is a plus.

Purpose

For our industrial braking activity "outside the standard product", take charge of customization studies of existing products according to specific customer specifications. The APS (Standard Product Adaptation) activity consists of carrying out a technical and economic feasibility pre-study; the DT (Labor Demand) activity consists of studying and distributing a subset for manufacturing.

Labor relations

Reporting to the head of the APS/DT unit. Close links with the entire R&D team, Order Management, Customer Care, Sales, Product Management, Purchasing and the Methods/Industrialization department. May occasionally be in direct contact with the customer (French or foreign) for exchanges on the specifications.

Description Of Significant Activities
  • Familiarize himself with customer requirements, specifications and specifications (French or English or Spanish); questions the specifications and may question the business or the customer in the event of inconsistency
  • Develops products in accordance with the rules of the art
  • Models and Simulates in 3D, manages assembly compositions, performs drawings and functional dimensioning
  • Produces algebraic or finite element calculation notes
  • Provides the elements for the development of the technical data sheets and materials necessary for marketing
  • Participates in bi-weekly meetings of the department and reports to its manager
  • May be required to visit customer sites or intervene with the after-sales service to know the applications and have field experience
  • May be required to participate in order and design reviews on nuclear affairs
  • Carries out RD customer plans in response to an APS
  • Performs sizing calculations and ensures the durability of its products
  • Drafts large-scale studies with his manager and has a critical eye on the application
  • Occasionally, can be a project manager for large-scale customer requests
  • Contributes to technology monitoring and innovation

  • Designs or adapts mechanical assemblies that must be reliable and in compliance with quality/costs/deadlines, with particular vigilance for nuclear products
  • Designs products in accordance with the rules of the art, and by regularly sharing with the site's technical teams
  • Must take into account safety, ergonomics and environmental aspects in its designs
  • Must be creative and can propose innovations
  • Advises and supports colleagues in his/her area of expertise
Specific Professional Knowledge
  • Mechanical Design Engineering Degree (or equivalent), Experienced
  • Solid foundation in various technical disciplines (Mechanics, Hydraulics, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
  • Knowledge of materials, surface treatments
  • Mastery of finite element calculations
  • Mastery of CAD (Solidworks) and PDM
  • Mastery of IT tools: ERP and Office pack
  • Working at height
  • Nuclear safety culture and knowledge of nuclear-specific CRT requirements
  • English: Read, written and spoken
