Formación

  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience with open-source observability tools such as LGTM stack and OpenTelemetry.
  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch, K6, and Faro is a bonus.
  • Solid background in CI/CD pipelines and system engineering.

Overview

We’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Logging & Monitoring squad. You’ll ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our observability platforms, while building automated solutions that deliver seamless experiences for our customers.

What you’ll do
  • Take end-to-end ownership of designing, deploying, operating, and continuously improving the performance and fault-tolerance of large-scale, multi-cloud solutions.
  • Ensure system security, data integrity, and high availability across all logging and monitoring platforms.
  • Develop and enhance monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to enable proactive issue detection and swift resolution.
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to onboard services onto our platforms and consult on best SRE practices.
  • Stay ahead of technology trends and evaluate new solutions that strengthen our observability ecosystem.
  • Create and maintain technical support documentation, while providing hands-on troubleshooting when required.
About the team

Our Logging & Monitoring squad develops and operates state-of-the-art logging, monitoring and alert management platforms to collect application behavior information, detect / limit service disruption and provide the associated reporting capabilities. Our ambition is to help empower the developers, application and platform owners identify any growing risks, have a clear understanding of their SLAs, reduce the mean time to resolution and be ahead of the curve with regards to long term trends.

About you

Nobody is perfect and meets 100% of our requirements. If you, however, meet some of the criteria below and are curious about the world of observability we'll be more than happy to meet you!

We are happy to meet you if you possess:

  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes in hybrid cloud environments (Azure and on-prem).
  • Experience with open-source observability tools (e.g., LGTM stack, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing).
  • Bonus: familiarity with Elasticsearch, K6, Faro.
  • Solid background in CI/CD pipelines and system engineering in distributed, cloud-native solutions.
  • Programming skills in Go (bonus if you know Python, Java, .NET, or Bash).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to balance detail orientation with big-picture thinking.
  • Enthusiasm for creating insightful Grafana dashboards.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills (additional languages are a plus).
Salary and benefits

For Spain the base salary range for this position is between EUR 60,000 and EUR 100,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognize your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.

Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
