Overview

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex incidents, code defects and performance issues across ABAP reports, enhancements, interfaces, forms and Fiori / UI5 apps within agreed SLAs.
• Perform deep-dive root-cause analysis (ST22, ST05, SAT, STPA, Chrome DevTools) and implement permanent fixes; document knowledge articles and prevention actions (Problem Management).
• Monitor critical batch jobs, IDoc queues, OData services, Gateway error logs, CPI / PI connectivity, Fiori launchpad performance and security authorizations
• Minor Enhancements & Releases
• Gather requirements with functional teams, estimate efforts, design technical solutions, create FS / TS, develop, unit-test and transport through ChaRM / CTS+
• Deliver Fiori apps using SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, RAP, CAP or BTP NEO / CF where applicable.
• Build / enhance CDS views, AMDP procedures, BOPF objects, user exits, BADIs, enhancement spots with clean-core principles.
• Run regression / integration tests, code quality checks (ATC, SCI, Sonar) and peer reviews; maintain automated test scripts in Tricentis / TOSCA or SAP CBTA.
• Adopt Agile / Scrum or Kanban ceremonies, manage backlogs in Jira / Azure DevOps, use Git-enabled CTS (gCTS) or abapGit for versioning.
• Set up CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) for ABAP & UI5 deployments; contribute to shift-left testing and automated transports.
• Benchmark new S / 4HANA feature-packs, SAP BTP services (Workflow, BRM, Mobile) and propose suitability for AMS clients.

Governance, Compliance & Security

• Operate under ITIL v4 processes for Incident, Problem, Change, Release and Knowledge.
• Ensure GDPR, SOX and internal audit compliance by adhering to secure coding guidelines (SAP Security Notes, OWASP, SAP Code Vulnerability Analyzer) and proper transport / documentation controls.
• Support pen-tests and annual audit evidence requests; remediate security findings.
• Mentor junior ABAP / UI5 developers; conduct code-walkthroughs and brown-bag sessions.
• Coordinate with Basis, Integration (CPI / PI / PO), BTP and functional streams to resolve cross-module or infrastructure issues.
• Participate in major incident bridges (SEV1 / SEV2) and post-mortem reviews.
• Contribute to pre-sales or service-expansion estimates and technical solution write-ups.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 8 years professional SAP technical experience, of which ≥ 4 years in S / 4HANA (1610 or later) AMS or project support.
• Strong hands-on coding in ABAP OO, CDS, AMDP and SAPUI5 / Fiori; able to debug both front-end and back-end.
• Track record of delivering high-volume incident / backlog solutions in ITIL-driven environments
• Proficient in performance optimization on HANA DB and Fiori UI; familiarity with ABAP Cloud / clean-core principles.
• Working knowledge of security (SICF, OData authorizations, SAML / OAuth, JWT, XSRF), GDPR data-protection concepts and audit controls.
• Experience with DevOps tool-chains (Git, CI / CD, automated testing) and Agile delivery methods.
• Fluency in English (B2+); any additional European language (DE, FR, ES, IT, NL, PL, Nordics) is a strong plus.
• Eligible to work and take on-call duties within the EU / EEA / UK time zones.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline (Master's a plus).
• SAP Certified Development Specialist - ABAP for SAP HANA or SAP Certified Development Associate - ABAP Cloud preferred.
• SAP Certified Development Associate - SAP Fiori Application Developer or SAPUI5 desirable.
• ITIL Foundation, Scrum-Master, or DevOps certifications advantageous.
