Senior Operations Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Operations Engineer you will support the development, maintenance and operation of nuclear training replica simulators in Europe & LATAM.

You will report to the Simulator Operational Support Manager and lead a group of test operators in several simulation projects. This position is located at the Madrid headquarters in San Sebastián de los Reyes with a hybrid work schedule (remote and in-office). This is a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the interface between simulator users (nuclear instructors or operators) and the modeling experts
• Perform operational tests in a replica or glass top simulators based ANSI/ANS 3.5 standards
• Simulator discrepancies diagnosis
• Corrective work orders specification
• Diagnose and correct specification of potential work orders
• Provide specifications of the modifications to be introduced in the simulator, derived from updates of the reference plant
• Design the acceptance tests of the changes made in the simulator, both at the individual level and in the verification of the global response
• Develop the periodic testing program for maintaining the certification of the simulator for training of operating personnel
• Support to the training school in the testing and validation of the training scenarios that are developed in the courses in the simulator
• Participate in audits and inspections of the simulator, following the processes defined in the simulator configuration control system
• Participate in engineering analyses
• Validate changes in the plant's operating procedures
• Perform simulator training for end-users

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Energy, Nuclear, Industrial, or similar)
• 5+ years of experience in nuclear training, Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) operations, test operator, simulation technology and simulator architecture
• Proficiency in Spanish (C2), English (C1), French (B2)
• Ability to travel Nuclear Power Plant sites
• Driver's license
