A leading data center hosting provider in Malaga is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and automate a fully scalable OpenStack cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include managing containerized environments using Proxmox and Kubernetes, as well as monitoring and securing cloud services. Ideal candidates will have strong experience with OpenStack and automation tools like Terraform and Ansible, along with proficiency in Python and Linux system administration.

Senior Platform Engineer - Malaga

Opportunity to join a fast-growing data center hosting provider building a fully automated OpenStack cloud infrastructure, with a mission to deliver industry-first, end-to-end data sovereignty solutions.

As part of their expanding DevOps team, they’re searching for an experienced Platform Engineer to take ownership of designing, automating, and securing their global cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability and scalability across their OpenStack environments.

In this role, you’ll build and maintain scalable OpenStack infrastructure, automate systems with Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps principles, and drive containerised workloads using Proxmox, Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD.

You’ll also take responsibility for monitoring, logging, and cloud security, ensuring high availability and performance for mission-critical services. CI / CD optimisation and proactive troubleshooting will be key parts of the role.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable OpenStack infrastructure
2. Automate infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps principles
3. Manage containerised environments on Proxmox / Kubernetes using Helm and ArgoCD
4. Build and maintain robust CI / CD pipelines
5. Set up and optimise Datadog monitoring systems
6. Participate in the on-call rotation for incident response

Required Skills & Experience:

1. Hands-on experience with OpenStack
2. Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and / or Ansible)
3. Scripting skills in Python
4. Strong Linux system administration
5. Cloud-native tooling experience (Proxmox, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, ArgoCD)
6. Monitoring and logging setup (Datadog, Elastic Stack)
7. CI / CD pipeline experience, ideally using GitLab
8. Strong grasp of secure cloud operations and system hardening
