Overview

Optical Innovations Specialist – Cutting-edge liquid crystal optical components are being developed for near-eye displays.

About the Job

• Design liquid crystal optical elements with desired specifications
• Simulate optical performance of liquid crystal optical elements
• Experimentally develop and test liquid crystal optical elements

You will participate in all phases of product development from planning, through design to manufacturing. The main objective is to lead an R&D line to deliver a sub-component for the final product.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with internal teams and external partners to drive innovation
• Establish relationships with universities and research centers to stay up-to-date with industry advancements

Requirements

Absolute essentials :

• Design of liquid crystal optical elements
• Simulations of optical performance of liquid crystal optical elements
• Experimental testing of liquid crystal optical elements using commercial and simple custom optical setups (UV / VIS spectroscopy, image quality characterization)
• Understanding of relationship between material properties and optical performance of liquid crystal optical elements
• Hands-on experience with liquid crystal gratings

Desirable skills :

• Conceptualization of patents
• Experience working with alignment layers
• Knowledge of methods of manufacturing of liquid crystal optical elements
• Understanding the physics of light propagation through refractive and diffractive optics
