A leading financial services firm is seeking a Senior Front End Developer for their office in Madrid, Spain. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining responsive web applications using React.js or Next.js. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of experience, along with strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams and optimize performance, while also ensuring security practices. EU citizenship or valid work permit is required.

LumRisk S.A. is an independent provider of state-of-the-art financial risk consolidation and reporting services to institutional clients. Based in Nyon, Switzerland, LumRisk has developed an interactive web-based application that provides detailed risk analysis, reporting, and stress testing on client portfolios, based on full position-level transparency. LumRisk covers the full spectrum of financial instruments from traditional long only and multi-asset investments to complex derivatives, hedge funds, and alternative risk premia.

In response to significant growth opportunities, and to speed up our development cycle, LumRisk is current looking to hire for its Madrid (Spain) office a :

Senior Front End Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain responsive web applications using React.js or ideally Next.js 15, incorporating charting libraries for data visualization.
• Applying frontend security development best practices.
• Collaborating with UI / UX designers and backend developers to ensure seamless user experience.
• Optimizing application performance and ensuring technical feasibility of UI / UX designs.
• Participating in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high-quality standards.
• Consuming and integrating REST APIs, ensuring security best practices.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers and business users, to understand project requirements.
• Keeping up with the latest front-end technologies and industry trends to enhance application performance and user experience.

Skills and experience desired

• Proficiency in Next.js / React.js and its ecosystem, at least 4 years of work experience.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience with responsive web design and modern front-end development practices.
• Understanding of web standards, browser compatibility, and security protocols.
• Familiarity with REST API consumption and integration.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
• Knowledge of unit testing and integration testing
• Experience with code-splitting, lazy loading, and memoization techniques to optimize large-scale applications.
• Experience with TypeScript to enhance code maintainability and scalability.
• Understanding of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) workflows for smooth development processes.
• Familiarity with Agile development.

Optional Qualifications

• Experience with React Native, SQL, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Background in data visualization or experience in the financial industry.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI / CD pipelines for deploying and managing applications.
