Overview

We are seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer specializing in Starburst (Trino) and Dell Data Lakehouse to join our AI & Data team. You will be responsible for deploying, maintaining and optimizing Starburst installations & Dell Data Lakehouse, enabling our clients to seamlessly access their data across multiple platforms.

The Role

Deploy, configure, upgrade, and maintain Starburst Enterprise / Galaxy and Dell Data Lakehouse environments for reliable, high-performing operation.

Fine-tune server, application, and container settings to support scalability and smooth performance.

Integrate Starburst with multiple data sources and set up data catalogues across different modes.

Implement strong security measures, manage vulnerabilities, and ensure alignment with data governance requirements.

Work with support and vendor teams while troubleshooting issues, resolving incidents, and providing thorough root-cause analysis.

The Person

Excellent communication skills.

Strong background in distributed data systems, including Starburst / Trino administration, Kubernetes / OpenShift, and Big Data / cloud platforms.

Solid Unix / Linux skills with experience in security frameworks (LDAP, AD, OAuth2, Kerberos) and connectivity standards like JDBC / ODBC.

Understanding of high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, and containerised infrastructure design.

Experience with automation and programming tools such as Ansible, Python, or Java.

Familiarity with data lakehouse environments, data pipelines, data federation, and AI / ML data requirements.
