Overview

Cost Reduction Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled professional to support project leaders, engineering, and construction teams in identifying and implementing cost reduction alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Benchmark design against historical performance, industry norms, and client standards to provide alternative designs that meet customer requirements without exceeding them.
• Facilitate workshops and identify opportunities for process enhancement.
• Communicate with clients and prepare conceptual and definitive cost reduction proposals for projects.
• Provide recommendations incorporated into corporate specifications and standards for future use.
• Translate project scope and proposed alternatives into an estimate of capital expenditure costs for design, procurement, and construction.
• Identify areas of uncertainty and apply appropriate allowances.
• Collect actual and alternative cost performance data, normalize it for future use, and develop metrics and benchmarking information.
• Stay updated on significant developments in new technologies and materials through review of technical literature and professional meetings.

Key Qualifications

• Degree in an engineering discipline.
• 10-15 years of experience in petrochemical, refinery, chemical, or power generation projects as a senior specialist or project engineer.
• Advanced industry expertise and ability to understand industry trends and strategic opportunities.
• Knowledge of construction practices, materials, and equipment, as well as international cultures and experiences.
• English language proficiency.
