What to Expect

Our Design and Construction Project Management teams at Tesla deliver services for new Tesla showrooms, service centers, delivery hubs, bodyshops and distribution centers across the region. You will manage and deliver your own projects either with a focus on design and/or construction management, and work with the brightest people to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. The Role: The Construction Project Manager will assume the responsibility of being the main source of contact and driver for each project. Their focus will be on managing all cross-function partners & third party vendors to ensure projects are priced accordingly, built as to plan, within budget & schedule.

What You’ll Do

1. Pre construction:
2. Organize and manage a Due Diligence team to perform full audit of existing site, to include HVAC, Electrical, Drainage, Health & Safety, Flooring Conditions.
3. Compile a report of all Due Diligence findings to submit to the Real Estate Team to be used in lease negotiations. The report will also be shared with in-house Design to ensure Tesla standards are upheld.
4. Align with Architect of Record to pre-identify required permit, Compliance Requirements, Electrical Upgrade Requirements and Procedures.
5. Perform site visit to gain clear understanding of existing conditions.
6. Review all drawings with relevant parties at multiple stages of the project to ensure design feasibility, budget allocation, and time impact schedule.
7. Create, present and adjust a CAPEX budget for all projects.
8. Manage and track CAPEX budget throughout the lifecycle of a project.
9. Coordinate with Procurement to arrange Bid Walks and Tendering Schedule.
10. Manage all RFI’s and perform a “Page Turn” with short listed bidder.

Construction:

1. Perform “Site Kick Off Meeting” with the awarded General Contractor on site.
2. Ensure all project documents are collected for the project and keep a log indicating such. Documents to include but not limited to: Site Directory, EHS required docs, Change Order of Record Logs, 2 weeks look ahead, etc.
3. Manage all Change Order of Record which are shared with Procurement to provide a check and balance of the scope and cost implications.
4. In charge of holding weekly/biweekly meetings with other internal stakeholders and Awarded General Contractor.
5. Responsible for reviewing/approving all payment requests from General Contractor.
6. Ensure all “owner provided items” have been ordered.
7. Collect all close out documents from the General Contractor before final payment is awarded.
8. Ensure that Facility Maintenance has all required documents to manage the site after opening.
