This role offers flexible hours, allowing for a minimum of 8 hours per week with a competitive hourly wage of £12.21. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong customer service skills, effective communication, and the ability to work under pressure. Previous security experience is a bonus, while full UK driving licence and SIA licence are preferred.

Join Mitie as a Relief Security Officer in Manchester

Looking for a role where no two days are the same, where you're trusted, supported, and part of a team that keeps people safe? Mitie is offering an exciting opportunity for Relief Security Officers to join our Manchester team.

You'll be contracted for a minimum of 8 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate of £12.21 (pay award pending) – and plenty of additional shifts available. As part of our relief team, flexibility is key: you'll be available Monday to Sunday, working both days and nights, supporting a variety of sites across the city. You'll report directly to the Security Shift Manager.

We are especially keen to hear from officers who drive and have an interest in alarm response or driving-based duties – full training provided.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Security Officer, you'll be the welcoming face and first point of contact for customers, clients, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:

• Reporting all incidents clearly and promptly to the Security Shift Manager

Retail security experience is a bonus — but not essential.

You will also have a good understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal and Civil Law, and the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.

• Previous security experience
• SIA Licence – Door Supervisor preferred (CCTV licence ideal)
