Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) Senior Engineer

About the role:

As a Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) Senior Engineer you will support Probabilistic Safety Assessments (PSA) for nuclear power plant systems, evaluating a plant's potential vulnerability to all risk and hazard types (seismic, fire, flooding).

You will report to the Senior Manager, Risk Analysis, and be located at the Madrid headquarters in San Sebastián de los Reyes with a hybrid work schedule (remote and in-office). This is a full-time role.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering evaluations related to risk to support both domestic and international operating plants and new reactors in design phase, including modeling:
  • Internal and external events
  • Different hazard types
  • Low power and shutdown modes of operation
• Use probabilistic models to provide nuclear power plant operators with the necessary insight to make operational, financial, and regulatory decisions
• Work with global project teams by contributing to technical scope execution and meeting schedule and financial goals
• Mentor junior engineers in PSA fundamentals
• Support clients in Europe, North America, and Asia

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Industrial, or related fields)
• 5+ years working experience in the nuclear industry or probabilistic risk assessment (PRA/PSA)
• Knowledge of PRA/PSA tools (Risk Spectrum, CAFTA, NUREG/CR-6850)
• Ability to travel up to 10% to international customers
• Fluent in English and Spanish
