A leading global manufacturer in Cataluña is seeking a Plant Controller to manage plant accounting and financial control. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in manufacturing, strong technical skills in accounting, and the ability to lead teams. Responsibilities include coordinating budgets, preparing financial reports, and maintaining company asset controls. This role requires flexibility to travel within Spain and Europe.

Formación

  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in accounting.
  • Background in high-speed manufacturing environments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in KPI goal setting and achieving objectives.

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate the plant’s annual budget and amend it following review.
  • Produce updates of the plant's forecast financial performance.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts in line with company procedures.
  • Develop systems for control and safeguarding of company assets.
  • Ensure an efficient office and services section for the plant.

Position overview:

To provide management of plant accounting, financial control, financial and statistical reporting, inventory control and office services.

The jobholder reports dotted line to the Plant Manager and reports directly to the Regional Plant Controller Manager and is required to make a full contribution to all management, policy and administrative matters relating to the plant. There is also a functional responsibility to Group Finance for the maintenance of company procedures, reporting standards and timetables.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To coordinate the production of the plant annual budget, play a full part in the company's budget review process, and amend the budget following review.
  • To produce an update of the plant's full year forecast financial performance compared with budget as required by group finance.
  • To prepare monthly management accounts for the plant to meet company timetables in accordance with company procedures and accepted accounting principles, and which will meet local management information requirements.
  • To develop and maintain appropriate systems and procedures for the control and safeguarding of company assets.
  • To establish and maintain an efficient office and services section for the plant.
  • The Plant Controller is responsible for the financial aspects of Business Continuity Planning for the plant. In particular, the emphasis is on insurance matters, the impact on cash flow and the financing of recovery operations.

What are we looking for?

  • Completion of a recognized accounting qualification (University degree) and at least 5 years post qualification experience.
  • Strong technical skills in Profit &Loss compilation and Balance Sheet management.
  • Background in a continuous high speed manufacturing environment,
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience of managing and developing teams.
  • Proven track record of KPI goal setting, development of action plans and successful achievement of objectives.
  • Significant experience in the use and development of integrated business systems (preferably SAP).
  • Good computer skills - particularly Excel (Advanced level) and PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility or willingness to travel to other locations in Spain and Europe if required.
  • Fluent both in Spanish and English languages.
