Overview
Role Overview : We are seeking a Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of our next-generation cloud-native automotive platform. You will define the overarching technology strategy, ensure architectural best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (both internal and external) to build and deploy microservices- and event-driven solutions at global scale. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in modern software architecture patterns, distributed systems, and DevOps practices—coupled with the ability to navigate complex business requirements in a rapidly evolving automotive industry.
At Nextlane, you’ll have the opportunity to innovate, push boundaries, and work on solutions that are transforming the automotive world.
Responsibilities
- 1. Architectural Leadership
- Define and document architecture guidelines, reference architectures, and best practices for microservices and event-driven components.
- Drive the adoption of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to ensure clear service boundaries and maintainable codebases.
- Evaluate and select modern technologies (e.g., container orchestration, serverless, streaming platforms) that align with Nextlane’s strategic goals.
- 2. Technical Governance & Standards
- Establish coding standards, design patterns, and processes to ensure software quality, maintainability, and performance.
- Collaborate with global technical leads to ensure consistent Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) usage (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager).
- Enforce security-by-design and DevSecOps practices, integrating automated security scans and compliance checks into the CI / CD pipeline.
- 3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Management to align technical roadmaps with business priorities, including connected car solutions, dealer management systems, and analytics.
- Serve as a technical mentor to engineering teams, reviewing designs and providing feedback to reinforce architectural integrity.
- Engage with stakeholders across different regions, understanding local regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR) and ensuring architectural compliance.
- 4. Performance & Reliability
- Champion observability best practices (metrics, logs, tracing) to achieve comprehensive system visibility and quick incident resolution.
- Design scalable, fault-tolerant systems that operate effectively across multiple regions.
- Conduct regular architecture reviews and performance audits, guiding teams on optimizations for throughput, latency, and cost-efficiency.
- 5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Stay abreast of evolving cloud-native technologies and industry trends.
- Spearhead proof-of-concept projects to assess emerging tools and methodologies for potential adoption within Nextlane.
