Formación

  • Must be a CMA or CNA.

Central Iowa Psychological Services (CIPS) is an outpatient multidisciplinary group practice with office locations in Des Moines, Ames, and Ankeny. We provide general psychotherapy and psychological testing services, medication management services, interventional psychiatric services such as Spravato and TMS, and Substance Abuse/Addiction Services in conjunction with MAT services.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Greets and prepares patients for medical provider visit. Obtains and documents subjective and objective data regarding the patient accurately and concisely in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Monitors Vital Signs, response to treatment, and follows standard safety protocols.

Communicates any identified [observed or reported] concerns, problems, needs or changes in patient status.

Prioritizes work flow based on needs of providers

Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPPA standards

Maintain patient records and request records, as appropriate, for coordination of care

Administering treatment for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (training and certification will be provided on-site) per scope of practice guidelines, as ordered by and in collaboration with medical provider(s).

Administering treatment for Spravato (training and certification will be provided on-site) per scope of practice guidelines, as ordered by and in collaboration with medical provider(s).

Utilizes proper procedure with special consideration for patient comfort and safety including standard infection control practices.

Prepares clinical space with equipment and supplies required for visits; maintains and monitors equipment and supplies as needed.

Assists the provider and other members of the core team with scheduling, gathering patient information, administering patient evaluation tools/questionnaires.

Submitting Prior Authorizations for prescribed services and/or medications.

Excellent verbal/written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent writing and grammatical skills

Excellent organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail

Strong affinity for customer service

Strong ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task

Education and Experience:

2 years of medical office experience preferred

Experience in mental/behavioral health preferred

Must be a CMA or CNA

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to communicate via telephone

Must be able to withstand long periods of time standing

Must be able to withstand moderate periods of time sitting at a desk in front of a computer

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
