A leading engineering firm in Spain is seeking an experienced Mechanical Deputy to assist the Mechanical Lead in coordinating site activities and supervising contractors. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical engineering within industrial or large construction projects, alongside fluent English and Spanish communication skills. This role offers a 12-month contract in a coastal location with good connections, ideal for local hires or rotation opportunities for EU candidates.

Formación

• Proven experience as Mechanical Deputy, Supervisor or Engineer.
• Background in process plants, energy, or heavy industry.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced multi-contractor environments.

Responsabilidades

• Support the Mechanical Lead with planning and supervision.
• Review technical documentation and drawings.
• Oversee mechanical contractors and verify their progress.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards and quality requirements.

Conocimientos

Mechanical engineering expertise

We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Deputy

The Role

you will act as the right hand of the Mechanical Lead, coordinating mechanical activities on site, supervising contractors, and helping to solve technical issues quickly and pragmatically.

You’ll work closely with construction, HSE, commissioning and project management teams to maintain quality, schedule, and discipline across the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Mechanical Lead with planning and supervision of mechanical works
• Review drawings, isometrics, P&IDs and technical documentation
• Oversee mechanical contractors on site and verify progress
• Ensure compliance with technical standards, quality requirements and project procedures
• Identify deviations and drive corrective actions (without overcomplicating things)
• Coordinate with HSE teams to ensure safe working practices
• Participate in testing, pre-commissioning and punch list activities
• Prepare technical reports and progress updates

Profile

• Proven experience as Mechanical Deputy / Mechanical Supervisor / Mechanical Engineer on industrial or large construction projects
• Background in process plants, energy, heavy industry, oil & gas, steel or similar environments
• Comfortable working in multi-contractor, fast-paced environments
• Strong understanding of mechanical standards, QA / QC and commissioning
• Professional level of English and Spanish
• EU right to work required

South Spain – coastal location with good connections

Approx. 12-month duration

Working hours in line with Spanish legislation

Local hires preferred; rotation possible for EU-based candidates
