Lead QA Engineer – Nuitée (Barcelona, Dublin, London or Casablanca or Remote EU)

Role Overview

Lead QA Engineer – QA Lead is the first dedicated QA owner at Nuitée. This role is perfect for someone who thrives as a hands‑on individual contributor and wants to lay the foundations for a best‑in‑class QA culture.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the QA strategy across our API platform and partner integrations.
• Design and implement automated test frameworks (API, regression, load testing, etc.).
• Own and execute test plans, cases, and documentation for product releases and deployments.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and DevOps to embed quality into every stage of development.
• Monitor, report, and troubleshoot bugs and performance issues.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated test coverage (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Act as an IC in the short term, but contribute to the growth of the QA function and build a team over time.
• Drive a quality‑first culture across teams and processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in QA or test engineering, with a strong hands‑on mindset.
• Proven experience in automated testing of APIs and backend systems.
• Familiarity with tools like Postman, Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured, etc.
• Proficiency in test scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, etc.).
• Solid understanding of agile development, SDLC, and QA best practices.
• Bonus: Experience building or leading QA teams, even informally.
