An innovative HVAC solutions provider is seeking a Lead Field Service Technician to join their team. This full-time position involves managing maintenance schedules, providing on-site quality control, and offering technical support. The ideal candidate will have a technical degree in HVAC, F-Gas Certification, and 3-5 years of hands-on experience in mission-critical environments such as data centers. Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish are essential for this role, which requires 75% travel within Spain.

Formación

Thermal Works LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Field Service Technician to join our team, working directly with the Thermal Works team as well as local contractors, focusing on Startup/Commissioning and Service for all Thermal Works equipment.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, goal-oriented individual with foundational knowledge in HVAC and strong written and verbal communication skills. The Lead Field Service Technician must be agile, professional, trustworthy with confidential information, and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment. The right person can work independently as well as in a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a comprehensive training program at Thermal Works' U.S. headquarters.
  • Manage preventive maintenance and service schedules.
  • Perform on-site quality control for the installation of Thermal Works products.
  • Perform all preventative maintenance and service needs for clients.
  • Be available to take emergency issues when on call.
  • Monitor service software closely to ensure services are met on a timely schedule.
  • Collaborate with different departments within the company for product development and improvement.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and repair of Thermal Works equipment.
  • 75% travel requirement within Spain.
Skills & Requirements

Education / Experience

  • Technical or Vocational Degree/Certification in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or Electromechanical Systems (e.g., Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior en Mantenimiento de Instalaciones Térmicas y de Fluidos in Spain).
  • F‑Gas Category I Certification (in accordance with EC Regulation No. ********) is required for handling fluorinated gases.
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical systems for mission‑critical infrastructure, including data centers, healthcare, or industrial facilities.
  • Must have experience with chillers and CRAH (Computer Room Air Handler) units, encompassing installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with EU safety standards, pressure equipment directives (PED), and EN 378 refrigeration safety norms.
  • Capable of performing diagnostics, repairs, and system optimizations in live environments.
Specific Skills / Abilities
  • Baseline circuit analysis and troubleshooting of electrical components.
  • Knowledge of hydronic systems.
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot HVAC systems.
  • Understanding of refrigeration theory as well as hands‑on applied sciences.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (additional European languages are a strong plus).
  • Ability to read drawings at a basic level.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
