This role is part of the Data and Analytics team within RES Services, working closely with Asset Management, Site, and Operational teams.

You will analyse, explore, and interpret operational data—primarily wind turbine SCADA data—to deliver accurate diagnoses and actionable recommendations for operational plants. Reporting to the Lead Wind Performance Engineer, you will contribute to standardising analysis across assets and driving continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and accuracy in analysis and reporting.

This role requires engineering knowledge, data analysis skills, and strong communication abilities to ensure that data-driven insights translate into positive operational outcomes. Occasional travel within the UK and Europe (to offices and sites) and flexibility to work outside standard hours may be required to support operational needs.

Key Accountabilities
  • Analysis & Reporting: Deliver analysis and optimisation services for wind farms, including performance analysis, reporting, issue diagnosis, site onboarding, remote support, and plant improvement.
  • Data Management: Assess network and communication issues, identify data loss, and validate data integrity.
  • Team Success:
    • Deliver work to best practice standards, on time and within budget.
    • Support contract compliance and contribute to business goals.
  • Drive Value: Evaluate and report on the effectiveness and impact of analyses and recommended actions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support initiatives to improve tools, processes, specialistanalysis, and adopt industry trends.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Understanding of wind turbine technology and energy production principles.
  • Ability to communicate data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive approach to challenges.
  • Data mining and programming skills (Python preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Investigative mindset: proactive, solution-focused, and ownership-driven.
  • High level of English.
Qualifications
  • Skilled in managing, analysing, and visualising large datasets.
  • Previous experience in renewable energy (preferred).
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Analysis, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics (BEng, MEng, or equivalent).
