Overview

Role can be based in Munich or Barcelona. About the role: Smart Mobile Labs (SML), Germany's market leader in bespoke private 5G networks, has recently joined forces with Boldyn Networks to become one team. We are on the lookout for a Finance Manager to join us. You will be crucial in ensuring strong financial controls, optimising accounting workflows, and providing reliable financial data to support business decision-making.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of the monthly financial close process, ensuring compliance with German accounting standards and working closely with external tax advisors.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS.
  • Ensure compliance with German tax and regulatory requirements, in collaboration with external tax advisors.
  • Conduct quality assurance of monthly financial statements and prepare reports for management.
  • Support statutory audits and liaise with auditors.
  • Handle supplier invoices, ensuring timely processing and payment in DATEV.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and manage payment runs.
  • Support customer invoicing, ensuring accurate entry of orders and monitoring billable services.
  • Track incoming payments, liaise with customers regarding outstanding balances, and support credit control and cash flow management.
  • Process and review travel expenses, ensure compliance with internal policies and German tax regulations, and manage reimbursements through HR Works or equivalent systems.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and adhere to financial policies and procedures.

What you'll bring

  • A university degree (or equivalent) in finance, accounting, or a related field, or a qualification as a certified public accountant (e.g., Steuerberater, Bilanzbuchhalter).
  • Demonstrable professional experience in financial accounting and reporting within Germany.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including experience with German GAAP (HGB) and tax compliance.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and financial analysis tools.
  • Hands-on mentality, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Very good German and English language skills are required.
