A leading company in paints and coatings is seeking a Finance Accountant for their Granollers site in Spain. This role involves handling month-end closes, tax compliance, and collaboration with various finance workstreams. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree and relevant experience, enabling them to communicate financial information clearly in both Spanish and English.

Formación

• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in GL accounting/audit.
• Business and accounting education according to Spanish accounting standards preferred.
• Experience in a multinational reporting environment.

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Accountant to support our Sherwin-Williams Site in Granollers. You will work closely with the financial controller across GSC plant for both internal and external reporting and statutory financial compliance.

• Month-end close
• Completion of month end close - working to a 3-day close and providing support to the business and finance networkCash balances ReconAccruals and PrepaymentsPayroll journals and and bonus accrual accountingInventory provisions / Other accruals / Obsolescence provisions in general.FA depreciation

Credit card accrual

• Preparingand uploading journals in the local ERP, generating reports and any other support required by the EMEAI Finance team
• Ensure an understanding of what makes up the balances to ensure postings are correct
• Responding to queries from the business and finance network

Review of the OneStream reports (P&L / BS / Trend TB) to ensure the accuracy and reasonableness of postings

Payments & Collections : Bank Recon

• Prepare the payments and post them in the local ERP (ABAS)

Post collections in the local ERP and chase the overdue invoices

• AP transactional :
• Post the invoices (direct and indirect)

Post collections in the local ERP and chase the overdue invoices

Tax Compliance & Others

• Prepare the monthly and quarterly taxes and submit to Tax Authorities : VAT return, SII, Withholding Tax, Income tax in advance & others
• Post the corresponding entries

Complete the national Statistics and other local requirements

Balance Sheet Reconciliations

Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the balance sheet reconciliations, working to agreed deadlines

Working with the finance network and the business to resolve any query

Maintenance and continuous improvement of BS / P&L accounts

Prepare intercompany cross charges in accordance with SW Policy

• Handling queries from various Finance workstreams (GSC, SBS, FP&A, Commercial BU) and internal

Alignment of Chart of Accounts to Business needs

Global / Finance Transformation

Support to Finance and Global transformation projects and implementation

Ad-hoc requests from Corporate

Support on various projects in the region

Support on various admin / accounting / Intercompany requests (Non-AP payment, ICO recharge)

Support to External consultants / External Audit in the documents requested

USGAAP and Statutory Accounting support

• Review and support the STAT chart of accounts and accounting
• Review and support to mapping between STAT and US GAAP accounting
• Primary-Statutory recon in Cloud

Cost Accounting

• Prepare and process cost accounting updates and accounting entries as necessary
• Collaboration with Local, Regional and Global GSC and Operations finance teams
• Bachelor’s degree with Minimum of 3 years of work experience in GL accounting / audit or
• Professional accountancy qualification with Minimum of 3 years of work experience in GL accounting / audit
• Business and accounting education according to Spanish accounting standards preferred
• Experience with external audit
• Experience in a multinational reporting environment.
• Knowledge of Local GAAP reporting (US GAAP additional would be advantage)
• Taxation knowledge
• High-Level of office and other Windows based and web-based applications
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Ability to change the environment and way of working

Preferred :

• Previous experience working in an audit environment or a multinational organization with 2+ years of finance / accounting experience.
• Well organized and problem-solving skills.
• Can communicate financials and related issues in clear business language (Spanish & English).
• Ability to work constructively at all organizational levels, from plant operators to senior executives.
• Drive and assertiveness to achieve work deadline and performance goals.
• Preparation of financial statements and statutory returns
