A global pharmaceutical company located in Madrid is looking for a proactive Facility Engineer to oversee outsourced facility services. This role requires managing contracts for cleaning, catering, and security, ensuring service delivery meets quality and sustainability standards. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management or Engineering and 3–5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Spanish and English is essential, alongside knowledge of CMMS systems and AutoCAD.

The position

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Facility Engineer to oversee the management of outsourced facility services, including cleaning, catering, and security. This role is critical to ensure that our workplace remains safe, efficient, and aligned with ALK’s sustainability and compliance standards.

The Facility Engineer will be responsible for the daily coordination of service providers, contract management, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong stakeholder management skills and a structured approach to service delivery.

Fields of responsibility
  • Manage and supervise external service contracts (cleaning, catering, security).
  • Ensure service delivery meets ALK’s standards for quality, safety, and sustainability.
  • Monitor vendor performance and conduct regular reviews and audits.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, EHS, and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with company policies.
  • Drive initiatives for cost optimization and environmental impact reduction.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to facility operations and vendor compliance.
  • Support emergency preparedness and business continuity planning.
  • Promote a culture of safety, service excellence, and sustainability across the site.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Al least, 3–5 years of experience in facility or contract management, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations and sustainability practices.
  • Proven experience working in GMP environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in spoken, written, and understood English.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Work on CMMS system (Blue Mountain) to manage the contractor’s interventions.
  • AutoCAD knowledge for drawings control.

The position is located at ALK’s site in Madrid what is in the business area of Ciudad Lineal, very close to the center of Madrid. We have quick access to the Hermanos García Noblejas and Ascao metro stations and we also have a wide bus connection. The manufacturing center is located at Calle Miguel Fleta 19 while the Business Support area is in an annex building located in the Avalon Business Park. Nevertheless, we have a remote working policy that will allow you to work from home part of your time.
