Skydance Animation - Environment Modeling Lead Artist

Responsibilities

1. Take and receive direction from the Supervisor, provide feedback to the team, and review artists’ work.
2. Become an expert on modeling, sculpting, and asset optimization.
3. Collaborate with the Director, Production Designer, and Supervisor to elevate the quality of work.
4. Model trees, bushes, and vegetation consistent with the movie’s look.
5. Iterate with the production designer on location design.
6. Lead and support the team, ensuring adherence to quality standards, artistic direction, and deadlines, while fostering professional growth.
7. Follow the Supervisor’s guidance.
8. Stay current with technological trends and tools to enhance the creative technical environment.
9. Proactively learn new skills and tools.
10. Solve technical problems in collaboration with the TD Supervisor.
11. Provide modeling support to Lighting, Shading, Rigging, Scene Composition, and FX teams throughout production.
12. Coordinate between input and output departments such as scene composition, layout, shading, and lighting.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in VFX or animation industries.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Lead in the animation industry.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
• Strong eye for proportions, color, composition, and detail.
