Formación

• Proven experience in FinOps or cloud cost management, ideally with Microsoft Azure.

The company: Our customer is a technology-based startup with solid funding that is in the midst of expansion. They will hire the selected candidate as an internal and permanent employee, based in Madrid, but providing services to their global organization.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Cloud FinOps Specialist for its global operations in Madrid. He/She will take ownership of cloud financial operations, ensuring efficient, transparent and sustainable scaling. This Cloud FinOps Specialist will be responsible for monitoring, optimizing, and forecasting Azure cloud spend, working closely with engineering, finance, and leadership teams, and building and leading the FinOps practice, defining cost governance standards, and ensuring that cloud investments align with business value.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

• Own the FinOps strategy for Azure, including cost visibility, allocation, and optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design cost-efficient architectures and promote cloud cost awareness.
• Partner with Finance to forecast cloud expenses, align budgets, and support reporting needs.
• Implement and manage FinOps tools and dashboards for real-time cost tracking and analysis.
• Define and enforce governance policies for resource tagging, reserved instances, and scaling practices.
• Lead cost reviews, anomaly detection, and savings initiatives across cloud services.
• Stay current with Azure pricing models, service updates, and best practices.

Working Experience & Tech Skills

• Proven experience in FinOps or cloud cost management, ideally with Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, billing models, and optimization techniques.
• Experience in multinational environments with complex cloud usage patterns.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Experience with Azure Cost Management, CloudHealth, Cloudability or similar tools would be an asset.
• Familiarity with SaaS metrics, unit economics, and cost-to-serve models (desirable).
• Exposure to startup scaling challenges and rapid cloud growth (desirable).

Soft Skills

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile startup environment.
• Leadership capabilities.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with different teams (engineering, finance).
• International work experience working with international teams.

Education and Training

• Bachelor's Degree in information technology, or a related field.

Certifications

• FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification would be valued.

Languages

• Spanish: Very good Business Spanish required (excellent communication skills). B2/C1 level.
• English: Very good Business English required (excellent communication skills). B2/C1 level.

Job Conditions

Job location: Tres Cantos (Madrid). European Union nationality otherwise EU/Spain work permit required as a prerequisite.

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time, as internal employee.

Salary: Depending on qualification and experience.

Work from home: Hybrid working model including the possibility of working from home (70%) but according to the specific needs that may arise from the perspective of project development, department, clients, and/or partners.
