A humanitarian organization is seeking a Business Analyst to join their team. This role involves driving continuous improvements in systems and processes to better support the organization's objectives. The ideal candidate should hold a relevant degree, possess strong analytical skills, and have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within an international setting. The position offers a contract of 24 months with a starting date as soon as possible, based in Spain.

Formación

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as business analyst in international context involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and/or experience on IT Service Management and/or Agile Project Management is essential.
  • Experience with ERP or Master Data Management systems is a plus.

I. MSF INTERNATIONAL

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural disasters. MSF offers assistance to people based only on need and irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. MSF International is the legal entity that binds MSF's 24 sections, 28 associations and 19 branch offices together. Registered in Switzerland, MSF International provides coordination, information and support to the MSF Movement, as well as implements international projects and initiatives as requested.

II. POSITION BACKGROUND

The SPINCO team (https://spinco.msf.org/) delivers a set of solutions which act as the central source of trusted product information for MSF internal processes. They ensure the quality of information within those systems, the maintenance and development of the tools, and support users in the operation of the tools. Through the delivery of these services, SPINCO acts as the driver for effective collaboration across the MSF movement in relation to product management.

The flagship SPINCO solution is UniData, MSF's central supply article database that details all items available for the field and shares information changes within the Movement. The online platforms of UniData and Unicat give oversight on articles available as resources for operations, in alignment with MSF guidelines and protocols. SPINCO also provides UniQuality & UniLocal, the MSF Medical Product Qualification databases, and MSL Medical Standard Lists, a tool which allows collaboration on managing lists of products in projects around the world. The solutions are accessible online to permitted users, and data is made available to other tools in the movement via APIs, enhancing interoperability of processes and information.

SPINCO is currently engaged in a project to review its current solution ecosystem, aiming to improve the data model, processes, and technology. The BA position is directly connected to this project, and will therefore play an integral role in the project's success.

III. PLACE IN THE ORGANISATION

The Business Analyst is part of the Business Strategy team in SPINCO, a part of MSF International. They report to the Business Strategy Coordinator and works closely with the Product Owners, Subject Matter Experts, and Development team. The role is deeply related to the ongoing project to modernise the SPINCO IT ecosystem, so will have frequent contact with project team members and stakeholders.

IV. OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION

The purpose of the Business Analyst position is to identify and support implementation of process and solution improvements for SPINCO products, services, and key partners.

  • Drive continuous improvements in both systems and business processes in the scope of SPINCO and its key partners
  • Assist in planning, road mapping, and support to roll-out of new applications, functionality, and reporting
  • Analyse and document business processes, available data, and data structures to identify root causes of deficiencies
  • Gather and document functional requirements and translate these into process or system adaptations, functioning as the interface between the business and technical teams
  • Propose, design, test, and support improvements to processes and systems
  • Ensure users of newly developed products are guided, trained and assisted to successfully apply these enhancements.
V. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, together with key stakeholders, and design, propose, implement, and support them
  • Engage with key stakeholders proactively and regularly to understand their needs and plans
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and Key Users to understand their business needs, analyse and refine into technical requirements, and assist in prioritising the product back‑logs
  • Propose and design process and technical solutions that meet business needs and cater solutions for the improvement ideas/problem
  • Organise the implementation of Scrum practices in development
  • Lead testing during development for functional, integration, regression testing, and user acceptance testing prior to releases
  • Assist on data cleansing and data cleaning initiatives, help analysing & executing related tasks with deep know‑how, skills and toolset
  • Monitor and proactively react to system, process, and quality KPIs
  • Create communication materials such as Release Notes and newsletters
  • Coordinate the creation and maintenance of support material such as e‑learning, and users guides
  • Act as 2nd line user support on Service Desk
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Relevant degree in business management or information technology, or any similar education
  • Knowledge and/or experience of managing business requirements, with a good understanding of the IT side
  • Knowledge and/or experience on IT Service Management and/or Agile Project Management
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as business analyst in international context involving multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with ERP or Master Data Management systems is a plus
  • MSF experience is a plus
