Overview

Novartis Spain is an internationally renowned pharmaceutical company, specializing in the research, development and commercialization of innovative medicines. We are looking for a BPA Manager - Small Molecules Operations (SMO) on a permanent contract for our headquarters in Barcelona. You will drive financial transparency, strategic reporting, and continuous improvement across the SMO Platform. You will be embedded in a diverse, cross-functional environment at Novartis TechOps, partnering with senior stakeholders, supporting production sites worldwide, and influencing decisions through insightful analysis and data-driven strategies. This role combines precision, innovation, and impact—leveraging digital tools and automation to optimize processes and elevate financial outcomes.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain systems for financial tracking and platform presentations, with a focus on automation and digitalization of the Platform financial data.
  • Ensure consolidation and reporting of financial Platform KPIs in a timely manner.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, driving financial transparency and influencing decision-making across functions.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, proactively recommend mitigation strategies, and drive resolution.
  • Perform financial analysis, cost analysis, and controls to drive performance and corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage the full budget and latest forecast cycles for cost centers and service areas, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Be the Platform main finance partner for several production sites across different geographies and product portfolios.
  • Be responsible for Platform reporting of actuals, outlooks and targets.
  • Support the preparation and consolidation of planning processes, guiding principles, and ensure timely, high-quality budget delivery, including risks & opportunities and scenario analysis.
  • Assist in the consolidation and reporting of monthly Latest Outlooks (LO), reporting of actuals and associated variance commentaries to Global Finance Technical Operations.
Essential Criteria
  • Degree in Business Administration or a similar diploma (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial controlling, planning & analysis, and reporting within a global organization.
  • Manufacturing background.
  • Digitally savvy, with familiarity in Power BI or similar data visualization tools, and an interest in using AI solutions like Copilot to enhance financial insights.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
