credium is seeking a Geospatial Engineer to join our startup team. You will play a key role in the development of our geospatial data products by designing, developing and maintaining our ETL pipelines, ensuring data quality throughout the data life cycle. You will work closely with other data engineers, software engineers, and data scientists to ensure data accuracy and completeness, and to meet customer needs.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys tackling both big-picture architecture and detailed data challenges, and values continuous learning and self-development.

1. You design, implement and maintain robust, scalable and efficient data ingestion and transformation pipelines, processing large scale open geospatial data.
2. You ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across various platforms and systems.
3. You create data model, data mapping, and data lineage documentation.
4. You create geodata insights and reports.
5. You transform raw geodata into features that enhance our products, not shying away from complex algorithms and calculations.
6. You collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their data requirements and ensure data meets their needs.

Don’t worry if you don’t fulfill all criteria. Everyone’s got a focus.

1. You hold a degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, or related field or comparable working experience.
2. You have proven professional experience with large-scale geospatial data.
3. You have strong Python skills (pandas, numpy, geopandas, gdal, shapely, rasterio, and other relevant libraries).
4. You are familiar with GIS tools (such as QGIS, ArcGIS etc.) for advanced mapping and spatial analysis.
5. You have solid RDBMS skills and experience with database management (PostgreSQL / Oracle / MSSQL) and geospatial extensions (e.g. PostGIS).
6. You have strong sense of responsibility, with the ability to tackle both high-level design and nitty-gritty data issues.
7. You proved your ability to document and explain complex technical concepts.
8. You have strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
9. Bonus: You have professional experience with Cloud Data Infrastructure, ideally Azure.
10. Bonus: You are experienced in transforming data in PySpark for handling large datasets and transforming geospatial data using Sedona.
11. Bonus: Experience working in a startup environment.
