Job summary
A German university is seeking a PhD student in Ecology to conduct empirical observations of plant-pollinator networks, perform statistical analyses using R, and analyze genetic structures of plants. Candidates should hold a M.Sc. in biology or related fields and have a strong interest in ecological research. The position is part-time and temporary, located in Germany with a deadline for applications on 30 Nov 2025.
Qualifications
- A M.Sc. degree in biology, ecology, or related fields is required.

We are looking for a PhD student to work on the following tasks and qualifications:
- Empirical observation of plant‑pollinator networks
- Statistical analysis of interaction networks and testing their predictability using machine learning methods
- Analysis of the spatial genetic structure of plants using next‑generation sequencing (NGS)
- A M.Sc. degree in biology, ecology, or related fields. If already available, please include your M.Sc. thesis in your application.
- Good knowledge of native vascular plants as well as an interest in pollinators and in fieldwork
- Experience and interest in statistical analysis in R
- Interest and, ideally, prior knowledge of population genetic laboratory methods
- Good knowledge of English and the Interest in writing scientific publications
