A pioneering energy supplier in Berlin seeks a Freelance Brand & Identity Designer to create and define its brand identity. This role offers the opportunity to develop a visual language, design digital assets, and collaborate with a UI/UX Designer to ensure brand alignment. Ideal candidates will possess over 4 years of experience in brand design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating their work. Flexibility in a freelance engagement is offered, with potential for ongoing collaboration.
Build the identity of Europe’s first AI-native energy supplier
Energy markets are volatile, complex, and still running on outdated systems. At Zeus Energy, we are creating the first AI-native full-stack energy supplier—a digital-first platform that helps businesses buy, manage, and optimize their energy with intelligence, speed, and transparency. We are backed by Merantix, Europe’s leading AI venture studio. At this early stage, we’re not just building technology—we’re building a brand that will inspire trust among traditional industries while defining a new digital category.
We’re looking for a Freelance Brand & Identity Designer to create Zeus’s brand identity from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to define the visual language, narrative, and digital presence of a company that aims to reshape how Europe’s businesses experience energy:
Develop a bold, scalable brand identity.
Design the digital foundations: website, templates, and key marketing assets.
Craft a brand that balances modernity and credibility—appealing to German SMEs in traditional industries like manufacturing, materials, and food and beverages.
Shape the tone of voice and visual storytelling across all touchpoints.
Collaborate closely with our UI/UX Designer to ensure seamless alignment between brand and product experience.
Use a dedicated budget to commission supporting assets (e.g. photography, illustrations) when needed.
Deliver a brand platform that is digital-first, trusted by traditional businesses, and built to scale.
4+ years of experience in brand and identity design (agency or in-house).
Strong experience designing digital-first brand systems (websites, product ecosystems, campaigns).
Ability to translate abstract concepts into simple, memorable brand experiences.
Fluent in English; German a plus.
Portfolio required: Please share a link to your portfolio or case studies showcasing brand identity projects you’ve built end-to-end—including digital applications (e.g. websites, decks, campaigns).
Impact: Your work will define how customers, partners, and the market see Zeus from day one.
Creative freedom: A blank canvas to design a category-defining brand.
Collaboration: Direct access to founders, UI/UX designer, and early design partner customers.
Support: A dedicated budget to bring your brand vision to life with additional creative talent.
Flexibility: Freelance engagement over ~3 months, with the option for ongoing collaboration if there’s a strong fit.
We are an equal-opportunity employer and value diversity. We consider all applications equally regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or gender identity. We strongly encourage individuals from groups traditionally underrepresented in tech to apply.
