About the Role:

We are looking for an ambitious and hands-on Financial Controller to join a high-growth real estate investment and asset management firm based in Berlin. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with both the CFO and the Managing Director, acting as a trusted sparring partner on all financial matters. You’ll play a central role in shaping the finance function and laying the groundwork for a high-performing finance team as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the right hand to the CFO, supporting strategic financial planning, reporting, and decision-making.
• Partner directly with the Managing Director on investment and operational finance topics.
• Lead and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process under HGB (and potentially IFRS).
• Build out scalable financial processes and internal controls across the organisation.
• Prepare management reports, business KPIs, and financial models to support growth and investor reporting.
• Monitor cash flows, budgets, and forecasts across the firm's real estate assets and holding structures.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and financing partners.
• Take ownership of financial systems, tools, and data integrity as the company grows.
• Act as the foundational hire around whom a high-performing finance team will be built.

Your Profile:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, or similar.
• Experience in real estate or private equity exposure preferred.
• Solid knowledge of HGB; IFRS is a plus.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with BI or ERP systems is advantageous.
• Independent, structured, and driven to build things from scratch.
• Fluent German (C1+) and strong English (B2+ or higher).
• Strong communication skills and a hands-on, ownership-driven mindset.
