Deadline: Trial Balance for FY 2023 required by 2 January 2026
Location: Fully remote
Contract: Freelance / Contractor

We are seeking an experienced freelance bookkeeper / accounting analyst to support a historical clean-up of FY 2023 accounts for a German entity, purely for consolidation purposes with a UK parent company.

This is not a statutory filing, audit, or ongoing bookkeeping role. The work relates exclusively to historical data and you most be comfortable in delivering it to a trial balance format.

Tasks

Scope of Work

• Review and clean up FY 2023 accounting data
• Reconcile bank, AR/AP, payroll and control accounts
• Prepare P&L and Balance Sheet up to Trial Balance
• Deliver reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Handover for consolidation with the company’s UK accounts

Additional information related to scope of work

• The German operating business is closed
• Work is historical only (FY 2023)
• No statutory submissions, filings, or audit sign-off required
• Any accounting software experience acceptable

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering trial balance clean-ups
• Comfortable working with incomplete or legacy data
• Strong Excel skills
• Able to work independently under time pressure
• Comfortable with closed company-adjacent or historical clean-up work
• Own access to an accounting software

• UK or international accounting background
• Experience supporting auditors or parent companies
