An international research institute in Freiburg is seeking two postdoctoral scientists for single-molecule imaging projects. Candidates will investigate molecule behaviors and study gene regulation mechanisms. A PhD in related fields is required. The position offers competitive pay according to TVöD up to E13, alongside comprehensive social benefits and a supportive work environment emphasizing work-life balance. Mobile working is possible, and diverse applicants are encouraged.
fulltime
initially one year

Two postdoctoral positions are available in Prof. Ibrahim Cisse's lab (Department of Biological Physics) at the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics in Freiburg.
The Cisse Lab develops single-molecule and super-resolution microscopy approaches to visualize gene expression and other processes in live cells and study protein clustering and bimolecular condensation in transcription.
The positions are open immediately and initially funded for one year and the candidate should apply for grant/fellowship to continue the work in the lab.
Your role at the lab is to investigate the behavior of individual molecules and biomolecular phase transition in living cells. You will use the imaging and computational methods that have been developed by our lab to visualize molecule clusters that rapidly assemble and disassemble during gene expression to study the formation and mechanisms of these enzyme clusters that are important for gene regulation.
We want to recruit postdoc who are familiar with any of the following topics
We are looking for independent, creative and highly motivated postdoctoral scientists interested in exploring biophysical principles that regulate genomic processes.
Located in a region that connects Germany, France and Switzerland, our institute offers an international research environment with outstanding infrastructure facilities and a positive working atmosphere that places a high value on work-life balance.
