Transmission Engineer (Remote Opportunity)

Location: Remote (occasional travel may be required)
Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

ExecuPOWER is seeking a Transmission Engineer to join our growing team. We provide premium engineering design services to the power transmission and distribution sector, with expertise in overhead transmission lines. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely with minimal oversight while contributing to impactful, large-scale energy projects.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and development of high-voltage overhead and underground transmission lines.
• Prepare routing, siting, and placement criteria, including duct bank design, plan and profiles, and ampacity calculations.
• Conduct cable selection studies, assess routing challenges, and determine riser structure configurations.
• Collaborate with clients and vendors to specify transmission line components.
• Develop project cost estimates, schedules, and design options for client approvals.
• Review and approve drawings, material lists, and ensure accuracy within asset management systems.
• Conduct occasional field and factory visits to confirm conditions and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and permitting requirements.
• Support power restoration efforts during natural disaster response events.
• Prepare technical reports, status updates, and maintain timely documentation.

What You Bring

• B.S. in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 4+ years of experience in transmission line design (high-voltage systems preferred).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS software.
• Knowledge of PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, MFAD, LPILE and other design tools.
• Familiarity with industry standards: NESC, IEEE, IEC, ANSI, ASCE 7, and EPRI Green Book.
• Strong organizational and remote work skills with the ability to manage projects independently.

Preferred

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain).
• Experience with Asset Suite 8, SAP PM, Pull-Planner, CYMCAP, and ETAP is a plus.
