We are looking for a Software Test Manager to join our international DRE (Digital, Robotics, and Enabling Technologies) team at our location in Freiburg, Germany.
In your new role you take over leadership of our Software Testing team that drives to deliver highest quality products throughout the software development lifecycle.

What you will do:

  • Foster a Culture of Innovation: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Software Verification Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.

  • Develop and Optimize: Ensure all software verification activities adhere to relevant medical device regulations (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, IEC 62304) and internal quality management system procedures. Proactively drive improvements into the software verification process that improve quality and reduce project and product risk.

  • Represent the Team: Represent the software verification engineering team in meetings, presentations, and other communications with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coach, Mentor, and Motivate: Effectively coach, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve outstanding performance, taking ownership of deliverables and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.

  • Lead with a global mindset by fostering effective collaboration across geographically dispersed software verification teams, applying intercultural knowledge to navigate differences, and modeling leadership behaviors that drive alignment, shared ownership, and psychological safety.

What you will need:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree: In a regulated field, with 8+ years of related experience.

  • Leadership Experience: You have at least 3+ years of experience in leading a team of Software Test Engineers with both technical and disciplinary responsibility. This includes managing departmental budget, mentoring and training, performance management, and supporting the technical and professional development of your team members.”

  • Technical Expertise: Experience working with development tools for requirements management, issue management tracking, and a solid technical understanding of software engineering principles and regulatory standards (e.g., SDLC, IEC Agile).

  • Innovative Problem-Solving: Capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience, as well as project management tools.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to build and sustain relationships with various stakeholders, handle competing priorities, and maintain high energy and drive team engagement.

  • Experience in the medical device field or any other regulated industry
