Senior Sales Manager - Germany Industry (m/f/d)

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Germany GM, based remotely in the country and visiting with industrial customers and associates two days a week, the Senior Sales Manager will hold revenue and profit margin responsibility for our industrial business in Germany, leading a commercial group of 25 sales associates. The jobholder will develop and execute transformative growth strategies and customer plans that leverage Hach’s strong business and technology foundation, provide inspirational leadership, accelerate sales growth, embrace lean methodology, provide accurate forecasting and reporting, help leaders spot new opportunities, and enhance profitability and market share.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage sales managers for the industrial market in Germany: plan, achieve, and exceed the set sales target while ensuring growth acceleration.
  • Lead and develop the industrial sales structure with a team of 5 direct reports, who manage approximately 25 associates.
  • Collaborate and develop business opportunities together with the sales management team, including projects & E&C, business development, key accounts, and sales enablement.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain a solid action plan that consolidates the strategy in the region, delivering the expected results.
  • Acquire new customers, build strategic new business, and secure existing customers.
  • Provide weekly & monthly forecast for the business in Germany and actively contribute to the annual strategic budget planning process.
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • More than 3 years of experience leading a frontline national B2B field sales group of more than 10, ideally including managers/team leaders.
  • More than 10 years of overall commercial experience and a background in business, engineering, or chemistry.
  • Experience working in a highly professional/large multinational company environment with KPIs, structured processes and systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Strategic ability to analyze markets and identify root causes and areas for improvement.
  • Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time.
  • Excellent communication skills, including fluent German and very good English.
