This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior QA Engineer (Backend) in Europe.
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the automation strategy that ensures the stability and quality of complex backend systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks that power a global digital platform used by millions. Accountabilities
- Design, implement, and execute manual and automated tests (functional, regression, and performance) for backend APIs and systems.
- Develop and maintain an automation strategy integrated into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure efficient and reliable releases.
- Test backend connectivity, APIs, and integrations to guarantee system reliability and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and designers to review user stories, ensure requirements are met, and maximize test coverage.
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics, proactively identifying and resolving potential performance or reliability issues.
- Evaluate and enhance testing frameworks, tools, and processes to optimize automation efficiency.
- Contribute to QA roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen backend testing infrastructure.
- Support the QA Guild’s growth by mentoring peers and sharing best practices in automation, performance, and integration testing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with strong expertise in backend systems and API testing.
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, including automation and performance testing.
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber, Selenium, RestAssured, or similar.
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript, Java, Python, or an equivalent language.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions.
- Deep understanding of HTTP protocol, WebSocket communication, and client-server architectures.
- Experience in performance testing using tools like JMeter or Gatling.
- Ability to debug complex technical issues and decompose application functionalities logically.
- Working knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate across distributed, multicultural teams.
- Bonus: Experience with telecom systems, Agile methodologies, or eSIM/GSMA technologies.
