Your contribution:

This position is responsible for the electronic design and development of battery management systems and ultra-capacitor systems. This position performs design, testing, and verification activities to ensure all requirements and development processes are satisfied for current and future products. This position is based in Hannover, Germany.

Key Responsibilities: What you will do

Review customer specifications, industry standards, regulatory standards and internal design guidelines to establish product electrical requirements.

Perform the requirement analysis and validation planning activities in accordance with automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes.

Perform design verification activities such as engineering analysis, simulation, design reviews, DFMEAs, validation testing and reporting in accordance with automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes.

Lead design direction for core and customer electronic circuit designs covering analog, digital, micro-controller architecture, DCDC converters, and design of power semiconductor circuits.

Generate technical requirements of electrical architecture and electrical circuit design, components and sub-assemblies including PCBA, contactors, fans, temperature sensors, Flex PCBs and other electrical hardware.

Generate hardware / software interface specifications and electronic test software requirements, working closely with the embedded software engineering team.

Design and test for vehicle level electrical and electromagnetic performance per customer requirements.

Optimize the electrical system design to balance cost, performance, mass, volume, and energy efficiency.

Review electrical design analyses and test results in support of design verification.

Define test setups, plans, and execute tests for electrical circuits and components.st setups.

Evaluate Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders for completeness.

Lead technical investigations and resolutions of electrical component and circuit issues.

Develop relationships with suppliers to deliver components to specifications.

Actively participates on assigned project teams and tasks with other engineering disciplines.

Mentor and guides other professionals with state-of-the-art design principles and best practices.

Bsc. / Msc. degree from accredited four-year college or university.

12+ years of professional engineering experience in related fields

Experience with schematic capture, for example Altium, is required

Experience with electronic circuit debug, test, and simulation tools are required

Experience with requirement management tools, for example Doors or Jama is required

OE Automotive/Tier 1 experience with powertrain systems/components is required

Experience with Lithium-Ion battery management electronics is highly desired

Solid communication and organizational skills

Fluency in English, German is a plus
