SAP AI Engineer (m/f/x) at ALDI DX in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. This position focuses on developing innovative digital products and services for employees and customers across ALDI SÜD countries and stores.

Your Job
- Support the feasibility check on proposed upcoming SAP AI products
- Design, architect, and develop high-quality backend infrastructure for robust, scalable Generative AI (GenAI) and Agentic AI capabilities
- Implement scalable (custom) SAP AI products utilizing the services from SAP BTP and potentially other cloud services such as Azure to promote data-driven developments, efficiency, and business value
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code by contributing to product-oriented software delivery, ensuring scalability and resilience to failure
- Support the establishment of custom AI development expertise within the ALDI Development Platform
- Deliver and drive high quality and best practices in our engineering community by discussing innovative solution approaches and suggestions for improvements within development teams
- Work in an agile business environment with cross-disciplinary, intercultural teams
Your Profile
What you bring with you.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in software development, preferably with SAP BTP
- High proficiency in Python and/or similar programming languages and libraries like LangChain, Llamaindex, FastAPI, and Flask
- Familiarity with GenAI features, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) strategies such as chunking, retrieval, agentic RAG, multimodal RAG, and graph RAG, plus development of AI agents, tools/MCP server usage, prompt engineering and best practices
- Experience in deployment technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud Foundry, and SAP runtimes like Kyma
- Proficiency with the UI5 framework, NodeJS runtime, and libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib/Seaborn/Plotly; Hugging Face Transformers experience is a plus
- Experience with JavaScript and SQL, and tools like Jupyter Notebooks is advantageous
- Ideally experience in a DevOps environment and/or with CRISP-DM
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex issues clearly
- Solution-oriented working style with analytical and methodical approach
- Fluent English
