Loud Commerce is seeking an experienced, highly organized Rights Administration Manager to help build the foundation of our music rights administration department.

You’ll be our first full-time hire in this function. You will be responsible for setting up the systems, workflows, and standards that will scale our royalty administration across publishing, master recordings, and neighboring rights globally.

This is a builder role. We’re looking for someone who not only understands music rights inside and out but thrives in the ambiguity and momentum of an early-stage startup.

Key Responsibilities

Rights Registration & Metadata

  • Register works across global CMOs, PROs, and MROs
  • Submit and manage CWR (Common Works Registration) files
  • Coordinate with songwriters, artists, and rights owners to collect metadata and resolve conflicts
  • Track and update ISWC/ISRC linkages and maintain accurate catalog metadata
  • Work with record labels to administer uncollected master recording shares
  • Be an expert in understanding data needed to deliver the highest quality registrations

Workflow Design & Operations

  • Work with dev team and co-founders to design and document core rights management workflows using tools like Slack, Airtable, and Trello
  • Collaborate to establish systems for logging registrations, claims, and disputes
  • Collaborate with tech team to scope out tools and automations for rights management
  • Implement internal SOPs to scale global registrations and optimize collection timelines

Territorial Affiliations & Relationships

  • Assist in managing and maintaining direct relationships with foreign CMOs
  • Monitor and track rights collections by region, repertoire, and royalty type
  • Follow up on missing payments or unmatched works across territories
  • Develop relationships with key admin contacts at various record labels and distributors

Royalty Reconciliation

  • Review royalty statements for completeness, accuracy, and registration gaps
  • Flag uncollected or misallocated royalties and help coordinate reclaims
  • Work with internal royalty accounting systems to tag works and match statements
  • Work alongside tech team to identify automation capabilities

Research & Policy Awareness

  • Stay updated on CMO policies, rate changes, and best practices globally
  • Proactively research collection opportunities for neighboring rights, digital rights, and new revenue streams (e.g., UGC, fitness, non-traditional sync, etc.)

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience and expertise in publishing administration and royalty operations
  • Deep familiarity with CWR, global CMO landscape, and metadata standards
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, performance, and neighboring rights
  • Proficiency with Excel, Google Sheets, and rights databases
  • Attention to detail, process-minded, and relentless follow-through
  • Startup or fast-paced environment experience preferred
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, autonomy, and remote collaboration
