Research Associate (all genders)

Molecular Biomarker

Full-time and permanent

to join our team and contribute to our collaborative drug discovery projects.

Responsibilities

  • Apply immunoassays and other molecular and cellular techniques across various technology platforms to support biomarker and drug discovery projects
  • Independently design, plan, and conduct experiments; analyze and interpret complex data sets
  • Develop, optimize, and validate new assay methods, including the implementation of protocols based on scientific literature
  • Contribute scientific expertise to internal and external translational research projects
  • Prepare clear documentation, data summaries, and presentations for internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Train, guide, and collaborate with technical staff; coordinate day-to-day lab activities
  • Actively support project planning, workflow improvements, and implementation of new processes across teams
  • Contribute to scientific proposals and client communications; present project results at internal or client meetings
  • Stay current with relevant scientific literature and industry developments
  • Support the group leader in scientific coordination, people development, and business development efforts

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in a Life Sciences discipline (e.g., biology, neuroscience, biochemistry)
  • Solid understanding of molecular biology, cell biology, and disease mechanisms
  • Hands-on experience with biomarker assay development and validation (e.g., ELISA, MSD, SMCxPRO, Luminex, Jess, RT-qPCR, NGS)
  • Proven ability to translate scientific literature into experimental protocols
  • Strong data analysis and scientific interpretation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks and prioritize independently
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; confident in presenting scientific data
  • Experience in coordinating lab activities and supporting technical staff
  • A collaborative and proactive mindset with a high level of reliability and ownership
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); German language skills are a plus

Further Ideal Qualifications

  • Initial postdoctoral or industrial research experience
  • Knowledge of large data handling and visualization approaches
  • Experience contributing to client-facing proposals or project presentations
