Professor W3 (m/f/d) in Biochemistry, Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Start date: 1 October 2026.
The holder will represent the subject of Biochemistry in research and teaching. The position seeks an internationally recognized researcher addressing cutting‑edge biochemical questions using experimental approaches. You will develop modern biochemical and, in particular, cell‑biological methods to observe and functionally analyze physiologically relevant processes. The professorship will strengthen the faculty’s focus on biochemical processes at the cellular level, set new impulses through collaborations with other disciplines, and actively participate in existing and planned research networks within the Faculty.
Contribute fully to the teaching of biochemistry across the faculty’s study programmes, including undergraduate and graduate courses, and support the development of new curricula.
Positive evaluation as a junior professor, habilitation or an equivalent academic achievement and evidence of special aptitude; willingness to participate in the self‑governing bodies of the Ruhr‑Universität Bochum and to be involved in university processes. Appointment requirements must be met according to section 36 ff. Hochschulgesetz NW.
