About Burst2Flame Games (Stolen Realm Franchise)

We’re an indie game studio building, systems‑driven multiplayer games with a passionate community. We move fast, test often, and treat players like collaborators. If you love the craft of clear, charming communication and get energy from growing communities, we’d love to meet you.

The Role

We’re hiring a part‑time Marketing Communications Manager to own day‑to‑day comms and community growth across social, Steam, and email. You’ll plan and publish content, nurture our Discord, and build relationships with creators and press. This role is ideal for someone who’s hands‑on, organized, and excited to be the connective tissue between our dev team and our players.

What You’ll Do

Social & Community (Discord, X/Twitter, Bluesky)

  • Build and run a weekly content calendar (posts, threads, patch highlights).
  • Moderate and grow our Discord: channel hygiene, announcements, events, playtest feedback, engagement, community guidelines, and positive culture.
  • Live‑post during beats (dev streams, patch drops, festivals, demos); collect and route player feedback and sentiment to the team.
  • Engage with creators, media, fans, and other developers on social media to foster friendly relations and grow our online presence

Steam & Email

  • Publish Steam news posts/devlogs, schedule events, upkeep discussions, and coordinate capsules/announcement assets with the team.
  • Own the email newsletter (monthly): list growth, segmentation, copy, layout, and performance reporting (OR/CTR/unsubs).
  • Translate patch notes and roadmaps into clear, player‑friendly updates.

Creators & Press

  • Build and maintain a creator/press list and public press kits.
  • Craft attention-grabbing press releases and creator outreach copy; conduct friendly, targeted outreach; attain organic coverage on YouTube and Twitch
  • Track coverage, maintain a simple CRM (outreach status, notes, URLs), and report what’s resonating.

Analytics & Process

  • Monitor KPIs weekly (wishlist growth, demo/download conversion, followers, engagement rate, Discord activity, email OR/CTR).
  • Share concise insights and next steps; continuously A/B test hooks, subject lines, and post timing.
What Success Looks Like (30/60/90)
  • 30 days: Social media content calendar running; baseline analytics dashboard in place; Discord engagement and moderation cadence set; first newsletter sent; creator/press list started; outreach prepared;
  • 60 days: Consistent social velocity (e.g., 4–6 posts/week/platform); Discord community growth and playtest plan set; improved newsletter traction; initial creator/press outreach; 2–3 creator relationships producing content;
  • 90 days: Clear growth trendlines (wishlists, followers, email subs); repeatable outreach pipeline; established relationships with creators/press; a playbook for patch/announcement beats; consistent organic coverage.
Must‑Haves
  • 2+ years in marketing communications, community, or social for games/entertainment/adjacent tech.
  • Excellent English writing and editing skills (short‑form hooks, clear patch notes) and personable communication skills (social media, outreach, internal).
  • Comfortable running Discord, X/Twitter, and Bluesky professionally.
  • Hands‑on experience with Steam news posts/devlogs, discussions, and basic Steamworks tasks.
  • Email platform fluency (e.g., Mailchimp) and list management best practices.
  • Organized project manager: content calendars, deadlines, assets, work transparency, and tidy documentation.
  • Empathy for players; calm, friendly tone; discretion with pre‑release info.
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Campaign management experience.
  • Light video editing and thumbnail/screenshot polish.
  • Creator discovery tools (e.g. Streamforge, Cloutboost) and key distribution tools (e.g. Lurkit, Keymailer)
  • Experience applying to game festivals and showcases (deadlines, application materials, builds, one‑sheet).
  • Ability to secure cross‑promotions with other indie devs (bundle promos, co‑streams, Discord takeovers, social swaps).
  • PR basics (press kit/press release) and distribution tools (e.g. PressEngine).
  • Experience with analytics tools (platform insights, UTM links,).
  • Event support (remote) and comfort with weekend/evening beats during launches. Should be rare.
  • Fluency in multiple languages.
Schedule & Work Style
  • Part‑time salaried (15 hours per week) with some flexibility; occasional evenings/weekends around major beats.
  • Remote‑friendly. Core overlap hours with 10am-4pm PST for standups and content reviews.
