PLM Consultant (m / f / d) – Strategy & Digital Transformation Advisory

Our leading Digital client is currently expanding its team in Germany and seeking talented professionals with a passion for engineering, innovation, and digital transformation. This boutique firm works closely with major industrial clients across Europe, delivering high-impact projects in operational strategy and digitalisation.

About the Role

As a PLM Manager, you will act as the interface between top management and operational departments. You will work on high-value missions advising clients on strategy, process design, change management, and transformation programs. Your focus areas will include :

• Product Development & Lifecycle Management: Innovation, Systems Engineering, Design to Cost, Agile Development, and Lean Product Development
• Digital Transformation & PLM: Process modelling, configuration and variant management, BOM structure, change & release management, document and data governance
• Engineering Performance: Production planning, supply chain integration, and cross-functional process improvement

You will work alongside experienced consultants in a collaborative environment and be actively involved in workshops, interviews, process evaluations, and implementation roadmaps.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for candidates with a hybrid profile – part engineer, part strategist, and part process designer :

• University degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or industrial engineering (or similar)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in product development, engineering process optimisation, or PLM
• Understanding of eBOM vs. mBOM, change management, variant configuration, and document traceability
• Familiarity with at least one major PLM system such as :
• PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault ENOVIA / 3DEXPERIENCE, SAP PLM, or Aras Innovator
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills for both technical and business stakeholders
• Fluent English is required; German (B2+) is highly preferred
• Willingness to travel approx. 2 days per week for client engagements

Desirable Competencies

Candidates with additional exposure to the following areas will stand out :

• Requirements Engineering / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• SAP integration with PLM systems or other PLM tools
• Product Configuration Management
• CAD / CAE process integration
• Systems Thinking (V-Model)
