Aug 10, 2025 - Ampagroup is hiring a remote IT Infrastructure Engineer. Location: Worldwide.

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play an active role in maintaining, supporting, and monitoring existing infrastructure including servers, storage, networks, data, and applications. The role requires active participation in and support for various IT systems and projects. You will work with management and the wider team to improve and enhance key systems and processes. As a subject-matter expert, you will lead by example, mentor others, and ensure systems and services are available, visible, and secure.

The role demands a broad set of skills, flexibility, adaptability, and strong problem-solving abilities. You may also represent the CIO function across business areas, liaising with functional leaders and IT consumers. Effective communication, multitasking, planning, and delivery are essential, along with experience with a wide range of IT products and services from on-premises to cloud environments.

What you will be doing:
  • Ensuring the stability and availability of systems.
  • Monitoring, maintaining, and supporting systems and software for stability and compliance.
  • Performing maintenance, including patches and upgrades, with an understanding of production environments and availability targets.
  • Taking full accountability for project actions, technical problems, and incidents.
  • Detecting, resolving, and escalating events, conducting root cause analysis.
  • Monitoring system performance, capacity, and trends.
  • Using monitoring tools to support system stabilization and lifecycle management.
  • Gaining in-depth knowledge of supported systems and transferring knowledge to junior staff.
  • Managing vulnerabilities by assessing security status and applying mitigation solutions.
  • Liaising with internal and external partners, including user groups, consultants, and project managers.
  • Demonstrating expertise in Microsoft technologies, virtualization, cloud, networking, and storage.
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical documentation and policies.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Supporting architecture and project teams to deliver infrastructure improvements aligned with the company's vision.
  • Ensuring security best practices are followed in all implementations.
  • Developing skills and mentoring junior team members through training programs.
  • Resolving issues and incidents promptly following ITIL practices.
  • Reviewing change proposals and managing change within the infrastructure team.
  • Tracking licenses and certificates, ensuring compliance and renewal.
  • Monitoring logs, alerts, and system health to ensure availability, performance, and security.
What you will need:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure delivery.
  • Change management experience.
  • Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and resolve deployment issues efficiently.
Essential Skills:
  • Experience in change management and scheduling.
  • Understanding of infrastructure technologies and protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft solutions (Exchange, AD, SQL, VPN, DNS, DHCP) and cloud architecture (Azure, Exchange Online, Arc, Intune, Endpoint).
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Nutanix), Windows Server, HPE infrastructure, networking, SAN storage, Citrix, and firewalls.
Desirable Skills:
  • Cloud management, server infrastructure, Nutanix AHV, DR, and backup solutions like Rubrik.
