This Position reports to:

Local Division Manager

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a committed sales person to join the sales management team in local Division Drives Products as a New Business Sales Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining local sales strategy to further improve ABB's market penetration and achieve our growth targets. Through your overview of the Drives Products range, its optimal use, and the continuous observation of our market competitors, you will significantly promote our business success.

You and your team will be responsible for developing new business opportunities. Every day, you will plan, lead, and ensure the execution of the sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets for products and to ensure sustainable order growth, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. In addition, you will demonstrate your professional and soft skills by leading, developing, and coaching the employees in your sales organization to achieve sales goals through high performance.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Analysis of customer needs and monitoring of competitors based on general market information and information provided to the sales force in coordination with the sales and marketing team
  • Identify and evaluate new opportunities with potential customers together with the sales team, establish plans for implementation, drive initiatives on competitors installed base and gaining/accelerating market share focused initiatives on competitors installed base and gaining/accelerating market share
  • Leading the team and driving people and talent development within the organization - guiding, motivating, and developing in line with HR policy
  • Assisting the team and customers in identifying the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and in developing competitive proposals as well as participating in the coordination and important negotiations of orders and framework agreements
  • Build reliable customer relationships, ensuring excellent customer support and experience
  • Setting prices in close coordination with our manufacturing plants according to local market needs
  • Ensuring efficient marketing efforts (e.g. product launches) and communicating with the sales team and customers, communicating the value proposition of the company's products
  • Planning and conducting customer surveys and implementing survey results to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction as well as documenting all activities, planning, and follow-ups in our central CRM tool Salesforce and internal tools
  • Close and strong cooperation between sales teams (Account Sales and New Business Sales) and the Sales Support, Service, Order Execution, and Marketing departments, as well as other ABB business areas or divisions and globally relevant Group offices
  • Representing ABB Motion Drives portfolio at trade fairs, events, etc.

Qualifications For The Role
  • Higher technical education in Electronics, Mechatronics, Control and Automation, or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong and extensive experience in approaching and gaining new customers, several years of experience in sales management of products, preferably in electric drive technology
  • Experience in driving and improving sales performance and sales productivity across the entire sales chain
  • Leading experience and ability to build high performing teams and enable growth mindset
  • In-depth market and specialist knowledge in the drive technology industry
  • Very good written and spoken German and English language
  • Proactive, ambitious, persevering person who recognizes and seizes opportunities, passionate for hunting new customers with very good negotiation, presentation and communication skills
