University of Cologne has 6 Faculties covering a broad spectrum of disciplines and has developed an internationally outstanding research profile across several areas.

Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Fully funded Postdoc position (f/m/x) for Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1678. Institute of Biochemistry | Riemer Lab.

Within the collaborative project CRC 1678 on “Systems‑level consequences of fidelity changes in mRNA and protein biosynthesis,” scientists from different research institutions in Cologne study how age, stress, and dysfunction‑driven declines in the accuracy of mRNA and protein production affect cellular and organismal health. The Riemer lab seeks a postdoctoral fellow to work on a project focused on the redox regulation of cellular proteome plasticity driven by differences in translation initiation. Tools include proteomics, transcriptomics, ribo‑seq, biochemical reconstitution, and genetically encoded redox sensors.
