Full Professor (W3) for Horticultural Sciences

The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at Universität Hohenheim (Stuttgart, Germany) invites applications for the position of a Full Professor (W3) for Horticultural Sciences at the Institute of Crop Science to be filled as soon as possible.

The appointee (m/f/d) should make a significant contribution to the development of sustainable horticultural production systems. The research focus of the professorship should be in the areas of horticultural production, especially in the cultivation of vegetables and fruits.

Top-level basic research with a strong link to applied research is expected, e.g. in the fields of climate change effects, the decrease in biodiversity, and/or innovative, sustainable production systems. Cooperation with the Kompetenzzentrum Obstbau Bodensee (KOB) in Bavendorf and the Centre for Business Management in Horticulture and Applied Research is expected.

The successful candidate will be expected to play an integrative role within the Institute of Crop Science. We are seeking an individual with a demonstrated history of internationally recognized research and a record of high-ranking, relevant publications in the field, as well as the capacity to acquire third-party funding.

The applicant should be able to independently teach in German and in English in both the basic modules of the Bachelor's degree programs and in more in-depth and specialized modules of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs.
The position offers attractive conditions for first-time full professor appointees. Prerequisites for applicants are habilitation or an equivalent research and teaching record which may have been established during a Junior or Assistant Professorship.
